Download Status: Video & Image
Download Status: Video & Image ("the App") is developed and published by Lyncyn Tech (lyncyn.tech@gmail.com). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, why it accesses it, and how it is handled.
The App provides a viewer and downloader for status media files (images and videos) stored by messaging applications on your Android device. Specifically it:
All file reading and saving happens entirely on your device. No media files are ever transmitted to our servers or any third party (other than what Google AdMob requires for ad delivery — see Section 5).
We do not collect any personal data. The App does not have its own backend server, does not create user accounts, and does not transmit any files or personal information to us.
The only data stored by the App is a local file on your device that saves the folder path you granted access to, so you do not have to re-grant permission each time you open the App. This file never leaves your device.
The App requests the following Android permissions:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| READ_MEDIA_IMAGES READ_MEDIA_VIDEO |
Required on Android 13+ to save photos and videos to your gallery after you tap the download button. |
| READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE |
Required on Android 12 and below for the same gallery-save functionality. |
| ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION | Preserves any location metadata embedded in images when saving to the gallery (optional EXIF data). |
Folder access to the Statuses directory is granted separately via Android's Storage Access Framework picker — this is a one-time, user-initiated action and can be revoked at any time from within the App's settings.
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use certain data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including:
This data is collected and processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. We do not receive or store this data ourselves.
For more information on how Google handles this data, please review Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and Google's Advertising policies at support.google.com/admob.
You can opt out of personalized advertising on your Android device by going to Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalization on earlier versions.
We do not retain any personal data because we do not collect any. The only local data the App stores (the folder URI and a list of files you have already saved) remains on your device and is automatically deleted when you uninstall the App.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at lyncyn.tech@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.
Because the App does not transmit any personal data, there is no network-level data to secure. All media files remain on your device under the protection of the Android operating system's own security model.
Since we do not collect or process any personal data, there is no profile to access, correct, or delete on our end. You can revoke the App's folder access at any time by tapping the settings icon inside the App and choosing "Revoke Access," or by clearing the App's data in your Android device settings.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
